Education in Emergencies is offering 12,000 young Syrian refugees a quality education and hope of a brighter future.
We support partners in Jordan and Lebanon to provide quality education opportunities for some 12,000 Syrian refugee children. Typically, the education available in refugee communities and under-privileged host communities is of very low quality. Our programme Education in Emergencies strives for meaningful learning outcomes for displaced children, moving from a focus on simple attendance to measurable learning results.
We aim to prepare children to move into certified public education and to remain there instead of dropping out again. We do this through support for early childhood education and remedial education. Children with disabilities are being included throughout the programme.
Psycho-social support and social and emotional learning are an integral part of our approach, since many refugees have been heavily affected by war and displacement. We aim to create a globally available toolkit for assessing comprehensive learning outcomes, including academic, social and emotional learning outcomes.
