GIIN helps faith-based investors activate their assets for impact

Faith-based investors manage trillions of dollars in global assets. Through the recently formed "Faith-Based Investor Hub," the Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN) is building an ecosystem to support faith-based organisations in mobilising their investment capital to tackle social and environmental challenges, as well as advancing collective action among peers.

The GIIN’s Faith Based Investor Hub provides access to research, investor networks, and resources on the technical aspects of impact investing to strengthen the know-how and capability of faith-based investors and encourage positive, sustainable change through their investments.

In addition to providing practical resources, the Hub organises regular events that bring together asset owners, asset managers, and faith-based investor network organisations from a variety of religious backgrounds. These knowledge-sharing sessions are an opportunity for representatives to share their values and impact-investment insights and discuss the implications of their investment strategies.

Through knowledge sharing and network building Porticus believes faith-based investors can move at pace and, given the size of their assets, make a substantive contribution to global development agendas, such as the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Climate Agreement. The power of leadership within the faith-based investing community is unlocked when these investors know why and how to best align their portfolios with positive impact. Collectively, these strategic, faith-aligned investments can contribute to realising a vision shared by religious and secular communities alike: a more equitable and sustainable world.
